I think that homosexuals should be respected and that they should be treated fairly. but i dont think they should be granted the right to get married ! Because marriage, according to the bible, should be between a man and woman. Marriage is a very sacred thing ! and that's why every where in the universe, most people feel the same way, they think that two people of the same sax should ne get married !

don't take this personally, i just want to know other people's opinion and reasons about this topic ! cause that will probably help me to see and to express things in a more acceptable way !

So basically you posed this as a question so you could come in on your soapbox and rant about your beliefs? I love your statistics... not only do most people on Earth feel the same way as you, but everywhere in the universe! That's very impressive.
This was a really good plan on your part.

I dont think that anyone should discriminate about homosexuals getting married. They are 2 human beings that are in love. Love comes in many differents shapes, sizes and forms.........One reason that I think many people have a reason that homosexuals should not get married is because of what is stated in the bible. Even though I am a believer of God, I dont see anything wrong with homosexuals getting married. More power to them. They should not allow anyone to change their mind!

Marriage was instituted as a way to supress women and have the man own all of her things. Should we take away womens rights again, because the bible is very patriachal, and women are infurior to men in the bible, even eve herself was made from Adam. I don't think so!, but if we went by what the bible said, and took a literal translation, things would be a lot different. Let people be who they want to be, if you are religious you should believe that god mad everyone equal. Stop shoving god into everything and just let other people be, what does it matter to you!

Your theological opinion of gay marriage depends on what theology and religious group you happen to follow. The United Church of Christ, a Christian group, spearheads the push for gay marriage.
The real question therefore is not whether or not a given person thinks gay marriage is right or wrong -- but rather whether that same person actually believes in freedom of religion. If one does -- then why should the dozens of different denominations and faith groups that support gay marriage be prevented from practicing their faith -- just so the government can establish the views of the dozens of denominations and faith groups that oppose it?
Isn't the coexistence of divergent religions the exact reason for the inclusion of freedom of religion into the founding documents? In fact, historically, it was.
Kind regards,
Reyn

I have no problem with you thinking that gay people should not get married... but then in your same arguement I think that straight people should not be allowed marriage liscences because I live in a government that says we have a seperation between church and state... I think the government should allow all people to get civil union liscences and then let their church decide who they will allow to get married inside because I dont wanna marry in your church and I dont want my govt telling me why I cant have a union with someone I love...
I would like to think that is something we can all agree on but im sure someone will have something to say along the way

See, your first and main problem is that you refer to the bible for your answers. Not everyone subscribes to your belief structure. To make laws or rules based on a religion is illegal and unconstitutional. It violates several of the articles of the Bill of Rights, including, but not limited to Freedom of Religion and Freedom of Expression.
I respect that you have a religious moral stance. But, in all honesty, we are not all Christian. It's wrong and unfair to force people to follow rules and laws created by man to please YOUR God. When you do this, you take away the first gift granted by God, Free Will.

There is no logical reason why two consenting adults shouldn't marry. It doesn't affect anyone else other than the parties in the marriage. We as Chrisitans should love and accept all, whether we agree with their choice or not. Good luck. 2D

actually, in developed countries that are not run by religious freaks, gay marriage is legal. So glad our coutnry is not run by moronic religous bigots, though clearly you would be mroe comfortable in a country that is more backwards, like the US.

As a gay man, I don't see a point to marriage.
It might be ok as long as they don't adopt or anything, that would be so wierd having 2 dads, Think of the children.
no offence to other mo's
