I am 34 weeks and my baby is in the Transverse position ( sideways ) and she has been this entire time. I know she has plenty of time to move, but I am trying to get as prepared as possible in case she doesnt move. I have read that they may try an external version to turn the baby but I am concerned with the risks. what type of risk are there and is there more of a risk since I have an Anterior Placenta ( in front) ? I really dont want to have a c-section but I dont have that choice. I am really hoping she will turn on her own. I have been doing pelvic tilts and walking on all fours ect.. to turn her so hopefully that will help. I have 2 weeks until they start to plan what to do if she is still Transverse.. Any input on the risk would greatly help ! Aslo I have known a couple people who had a trasverse baby that was born with clubbed feet, so now i am also concerned about that... TIA !!

Well both of my boys were c-sections due to transverse positions and breech. My first son was breech, and my second was transverse. i opted not to do the external version to turn either one because it can increase the babys heartrate and put the baby into distress, plus I was told by my doctor it was pretty painful. I figured I would probably have to have a c-section anyway if the baby was distressed at all, so I decided not to risk it. As for your placenta, you're probably going to have to have a c-section for that reason. they aren't bad. I've had two. They just are kinda painful when you have to go to the bathroom and when you laugh or stand. I hope everything goes ok for you!

The external version does have risks. Are the pelvic tilts the same as the breech tilt? With the breech tilt, you lie on your back with your pelvis higher than your head. You lie that way for 20 minutes at a time, twice a day. They say it works 75% of the time to get the baby to turn. My first one was transverse. I did the breech tilt to get her to turn. She would really wiggle whenever I did it. She did turn in time.
