Okay, Now I had a miscarriage back in January. But I'm due with a new baby any time now. I was wondering are labor contractions worse or the same as miscarriage contractions? I was 13 weeks when I miscarried and suffered some very severe pain. Experience only please I don't want guesses. Thanks :)

Way worse, IMO. I've had a miscarriage, and I've had 3 labors, and miscarriage pain is nowhere near as painful as labor.

But everyone perceives pain differently, so your experience might be different.

Just keep in mind that every woman handles pain differently. I have a son who is now 21 months old and in July of this year I had a miscarriage. From my experience I would have to say that the miscarriage doesn't even come close to the pain that I felt when I was in labor. With my miscarriage I had pain in my side but it was bearable. Don't let the pain discourage you though because child birth is such a wonderfully thing and as soon as you see that little one you will forget all about the pain! Congratulations and Good Luck!

My sister had an awful miscarriage at 18 weeks and she said that it was far more physically painful than her labor 5 years later with her son. And she didn't have an easy labor either. She was in labor for over 24 hours, pushed for 2 and then they took him emergency c-section. Her miscarriage lasted nearly as long but she was in so much more pain. Perhaps simply because she was also going through the emotional realization that she was losing her beautiful baby. I am not sure why, especially since her child was so very very small.. 5.8 oz is all, but she said it hurt much worse. They gave her morphine and she was still screaming. Not nearly as much pain with her full term baby.

Yes, a miscarriage can feel like labor pains. But since you haven't felt that yet it's hard to have something to compare your miscarriage to.

Also, some women who have miscarriages feel only slight pain or discomfort. It varies.

I'm so sorry you lost your little one and I'm so happy and excited you are expecting again!

i had a miscarriage at 10 weeks and my pain wasnt at all that bad, but then neither was my first birth either so i guess it just depends on the person. i would definately say birth would be worse than a miscarriage though. the baby is a lot bigger then...

i've got had 2 miscarriages which I exceeded needless to say at abode (no D&C) and 3 babies, 2 of which I had with out soreness medicine by any potential. From my very own journey, could say the miscarriage grew to become into worse, there grew to become into fairly some bleeding, no person to shelter me, and it grew to become into very unhappy. The gnawing soreness and bleeding grew to become into consistent, while exertions grew to become into no longer very painful in the beginning up and there have been breaks between the contractions. besides the incontrovertible fact that, even whilst exertions grew to become into very painful (such as for the duration of transition from 7/8-10 cm) the contractions have been lots diverse. The miscarriage grew to become into greater known like terrible gnawing fairly fairly painful menstrual cramps and transition grew to become into greater like an entire physique spasm contortion of soreness the place you experience such as you try to hold onto a bucking bronco or a boat being tossed approximately on the sea. a minimum of for me besides.
