I just bought 4 traps because I have a mouse in my kitchen terrorizing me. It runs out and runs back under the counters and stove, so I decided to put traps out. I baited them with crunch peanut butter. Is that going to work? I put a very small pinch of peanut butter on and put the traps next to the counter line and 1 behind my mixer where I saw mouse poo.

Peanut butter. I would put a trap under your kitchen sink, in the corners and maybe in a closet. They tend to hide in the dark areas. If you have a basement put some down there as well on the support beams.

Hello,,they don't need the crunchy, but it will work. OK, first you need to have an idea as to where they are coming out at. Then build a "funnel", put some boxes on the counter so they have to travel down a pre-designed path to the trap, make it so they cannot just jump the trap either, they can jump if they want, put two traps end to end just in case the smart little crappers try something funny. You could cut out a cardboard box so they will go into the hole ,only to find the trap waiting for the little squealing turd layers. There are new traps on the market that are plastic and work "better" then the old spring finger pincher's. I bought some at "wally world" and they are the best thing since thongs were invented.

Peanut butter and white bread work. My best bait is some cookie dough that I put on the little bait platform, and then bake it in the oven so that it is so hard that the mouse cannot get it off and run away before the trap springs shut. My last mouse nibbled on my coconut biscuits and coconut, so I baked some crunchies (oats and coconut cookies) and used some of the dough on the trap. It worked like a charm.
A tip: try to handle the trap with your hands as little as possible, the mouse is sensitive to human smells. And once a trap has caught a mouse, you can chuck the trap away. No other mouse will ever go near that thing that smells of murder.

Cheese work for me, also the boxes with the poison grains also works. Unfortunately mouses are more clever than we think they are and are very good at avoiding traps so it may take some time. Next time you buy traps ask a sales person, they may know what works better than others.

Should work just fine. Peanut butter is what most people use.
