Queen Latifah has made a number of films that didn't require singing - 'Stranger Than Fiction' and 'Last Holiday' come to mind.
Frank Sinatra did a number of dramas including 'From Here To Eternity' and 'The Manchurian Candidate'.
Julie Andrews did 'Torn Curtain' for Alfred Hitchcock.
There are probably a lot of other examples...

Bob Dylan Joe Cocker Neil youthful Bruce Springsteen Deborah Harry of Blondie The checklist can bypass on....Joey Ramone Johnny Rotten, maximum punk singers....etc... lots of renowned singers are no longer technically very sturdy. it is often the lyrics or the enthusiasm with which they sang that gained them a following. Worst sounding duo: (in the event that they ever sang mutually) Neil youthful and Bob Dylan. i think of my ears might start up bleeding!! why is anyone bagging on Freddie Mercury? He grew to become right into a great singer. i think of there's slightly homophobia going around......

Madonna DID sing in 'Dick Tracy' but not 'Body Of Evidence' or 'The Next Best Thing' or 'Swept Away'.
Vanilla Ice was a rapper in 'Cool As Ice'.
Britney Spears sang in 'Crossroads'
Mariah sang in 'Glitter'.
My choices are:
Cher (Moonstruck, Mask, Silkwood)
Barbara Steisand (The Main Event, Prince Of Tides)
David Bowie (The Hunger)
Mick Jagger (Freejack).
