a) too low. yield is what you get that you can use vs the maximum you should get

b) scrape it off

You do not have enough information to answer this. What is the experiment? Alum is different than aluminum so that is confusing. If the intent is to dissolve Al and you are finding pieces of Al on the filter, then you did not have enough solvent to dissolve all the Al or you did not allow enough time or a high enough temperature tocomplete the dissolution. Another possiblity is that the material caught on the filter is not Al but some component of the starting material that does not dissolve in your solvent.
