Which one? Here's all you need to know about Michael Moore and his particular brand of "journalism:" He takes a controversial issue, decides all by himself what the problem is, and then goes out and collects "evidence" that only supports his assertions. Here are a few examples:

ROGER & ME: Moore decided corporate greed was the only cause for all the GM plant closings in the early 1980s where thousands of UAW employees were laid off. He didn't examine the effects of the energy crisis in the late 1970s and its impact on the auto industry, he didn't investigate the impact the up-and-coming Japanese auto industry was having on the Big Three, and he didn't dare investigate the UAW. At the time, starting line workers were making over three times the minimum wage for unskilled labor, and they went on strike in 1979 for more money. They expect to be paid a king's ransom to do a job a trained monkey can do.

BOWLING FOR COLUMBINE: This time around, Moore decided that guns were the problem. He didn't investigate the parents of the "Trenchcoat Mafia;" people who were too self-absorbed with keeping up with the Joneses and advancing their own careers to know what was going on in their own homes, he didn't look at the increase in violence on TV and its affect on young people, and he didn't examine the school system that allowed these troubled teens to be bullied with no adverse action against the bullies. Nope, if we all had our guns taken away there would be no Columbine.

SICKO: This one was a travesty. Moore pointed to the supposedly "superior" health care systems in the UK, France, and Canada (just to mention a few) and focused on the fact that over 45 million Americans are without health care. What he failed to mention was the fact that thousands of people die every year in the UK, France, and Canada waiting for medical treatment (or end up paying for it out of their own pockets) while the U.S. has a Federal law that requires a hospital to treat a sick or injured person whether that person has medical insurance or not. He only focused on the negative aspects of the health care system in this country and pointed out the positives of socialized medicine while very carefully side-stepping the problems with socialized medicine, banking on the ignorance of Americans in this area (and to a large extent it worked -- a lot of Americans who don't have a clue about socialized medicine swallowed his story hook, line, and sinker).

BOTTOM LINE: Michael Moore is a yellow journalist. He is not a credible source of information by any means, and his documentaries are always slanted in such a way as to place blame on "The Man." And here he is, living it up in luxury and laughing at all the fools who are so easily led by his so-called "genius." His only genius is exploiting the lower class for his own personal gain, so he is really no better than those he criticizes.

Which one?

The general response goes one of three ways: the person starts calling him a left-wing liberal wacko who doesn't know anything ... the person thinks he's right and starts a crusade without getting all the facts ... or the person realizes that he brings up some good points but that he leaves things out that are necessary to the story.

All of his films have been based in fact, but they are not wholly factual.

All his films have received good reviews and been controversial, which is what he wants.

You do what people have done with baseless propaganda since the beginning of time, you burn it.
