My guess is people are put off by your being a foreigner.
It is NOT your fault, but you are feeding it.
You might talk to EVERYONE at work--start with someone kind to others and out-going.
One sentence! Then hush and listen.
Never talk about work, or anyone else at work, don't complain about no one liking you-just visit, and ask non-personal questions.
If you don't understand, say so! and apologize. Don't sit like a lump, afraid of your shadow. It makes people afraid of YOU!
LISTEN carefully to the answers. Respond to the answer
Like this:
Is this a new car? Yes--wow it is nice!
No? --Looks good, I like those tires.
Do you like Chinese food? Yes--I do too. Is there somewhere close to eat chinese?
No--- I do, Where can I go to get some?
Do you like Indian Food? Same
Isn't the weather wonderful--or awful!
Laugh, no matter what they say.
Where did you get that lovely coat? NEVER the cost.
I like your necklace. Never anything about the body.
Here is the deal: Get out of yourself:
Look to learn about others, show them you are interested and harmless. If you make a mistake-shut up and say you are sorry-you are new at this, and smile a BIG SMILE.
Be sure you smell good, and have good breath. Stand about 2 or more feet away from anyone, except in an elevator.
When in doubt, smile.
First people have to like you, relax around you, feel that you FIT in, and THEN look for a promotion.
Good luck to you.

It could be discrimination, but judging from your question, it communication. I am guessing English is your second language, and while your English is very good, it's not perfect. When there is a language barrier or a culture difference, people can get shy about communicating with you. A lot of companies don't want to promote people who don't have perfect English because it makes communication hard and causes bigger problems.
I am very sorry. Maybe you should just ask your boss directly. And ask him/her to tell you what you need to do to get promoted.
Good luck!

Don't take it as a bad thing necessarily. It takes a certain type of person to be an effective manager, and maybe you are not assertive or forceful enough, at least in the eyes of your management, to be an effective one. Also, you may be so good at what you do that they need you where you are. As another poster asked - have you let them know you are interested in management? They will not just assume you are - you need to let them know what your aspirations are.

They most likely see you as too technical. You need to show them there is more to you than a heads down programmer/analyst.
Communication is key here, you need to express to them that the managers position is something that interests you and show them that you are capable.
I work in an IT shop and those people that are considered too technical are always passed over. Other managers feel they may be too analytical and cannot get out of the hands on enough to efficiently manage.

Maybe they think you are unapproachable! Its an easy fix! Just talk to them! Ask them about their lives outside of work, their kids, wives, hobbies whatever! Also, suggest company lunches where everyone goes out and gets food together, it takes you out of the office setting and brings everyone closer. Also try bringing in bagels or cookies. I always keep a candy bowl at my desk to offer to people who are passing by. Its an instant conversation starter! Just be a little nicer at work, smile, and they will come around!! Good luck!

Maybe because your grammar skills need improving.
Your question should be "why doesn't anyone care about me in the office?" And "an analyst." Details like that are important.

Hi,
You have made yourself too useful in the office, you help everyone to make their work easier.
If they promote you they will all have to work harder and EARN their money.
Look for another job where you will be valued.

maybe since you do most of the work and reducing your colleagues work pressure, they might think you are not a team player...just talk to your manager and ask him why.
