hot cold air was still blowing in the truck. The truck is a old Florida work truck and we took the heater core out years ago when it was leaking, we have since moved up North and need the heat. I think I discovered that there is a cover missing under the dash near the heater core and that all the cold air is blowing out, almost as if the blower is just blowing past the heater core and out this open area therfore not warming the air. I am tring to figure out what this cover may be called, so that I can purchase one to fix the problem. Any suggustions as to what this may be called would be appreciated. Thanks

Try replacing the heater blower looks like a UFO black on the inside left of the engine compartment(check with dealer or Chilton manual). When this unit goes no hot air blows.

Go to a Chevy dealer parts dept and have them show you an illustrated pic of the a/c--heater ductwork...should show all the parts in there. Maybe a salvage yard would have it too. Or cut a piece of heavy, stiff plastic and tape it over the opening.

Sounds like you know what you are looking for, so go into a GM dealership and ask this question. The parts book has pictures of everything so you can see it and buy the right thing.
