Ok i get the depo shot for birth control. Well for the past 4 mos. i have been spotting off and on the whole time which is normal when on that type of BC. then the periods just go away. Well this is my 1st month not spotting or anything. Should i take a pregnancy test before i go get my next shot in dec. just to make sure. i don't feel different or anything like i might be pregnant. i just want to make sure so i don't get the shot then actually be pregnant.

It's not uncommon to stop having periods at all with the depo, even if you've had spotting and periods in the past. But obviously if you're worried, take a test.

Birth control like Depo can cause your periods to be very light, or to stop altogether, which explains the spotting.

If you are concerned about pregnancy I would definitely go get a test. You don't want to be taking Depo while pregnant as it can adversely affect the developing baby.

To save money just buy a few Dollar General or Dollar Tree tests. They are only a buck and they work just as well. I've never had problems with them and it's nice being able to re-test and not feel bad about spending lots of money.

better safe than sorry, as the old saying goes. i would get a pregnancy kit and check. this is because if you are pregnant you do not want to risk the chance of birth defects, which the birht control can cause. i think you knew this already, didnt you? i hope the results give you what you hope for.
