i have heard of some northern whitetaial reaching into the high 300 lb range

your question is too vague: do you mean heaviest ever recorded alive? shot and killed, and then weighed? or what is the heaviest of the white tail family found in the whole world? a general answer would be the heaviest white tail deer are in the 300-400lb range, and would be males.
