It's the same reason that all the TV and movie presidents are fine upstanding moral men and women, respected in all the world, while what we really elect for ourselves are jackholes. Fantasy is what we want, reality is what we are stuck with. Reality will never match fantasy. Sad how we can dream it, yearn for it, strive for it, and in the end not make it happen.
