Well I'd HOPE the main reason is for LOVE not lust, money or any other reasons. Some people pick inadequate partners for themselves because "everyone else my age is getting married, so its time for me to do the same thing" or " i've been with so and so for 5 years, its time for us to take the next step." Some people are "gold diggers" and get married for money. Others have arranged marriages where they are forced to marry someone....usually a cultural thing where mom and dad force the 2 candidates to marry into a family for money....that's about what it boils down to.... But what people don't realize is that without love they will truly never be happy in life or with the person they are with.... Make a trip to Borders or Barnes and Noble to see if you can find any books there.

Why, if you live together, sleep together, have babies together some just don't think a piece a paper is all that important. Other just don't want to commit to a marriage, so they don't. No i don't know of a book on this subject, but I do have several friends who are just living together, some for almost seven years, no never married even with several kids.

Because getting married is choice. Not everyone wants to make that choice.
No, I don't know any books on this subject.

Don't know of books....
But as a 30 something, I can say it may be fear of committment, not interested in being married, not needing the institution of marriage to be committed. Marriage does not equal commitment, only commitment does.

Your question seems to revolve around those who remain in a pre-nuptial state, living together. It mostly allows either party to maintain their independence to do whatever without the restraint of a license, yet keep their companionship without a brother/sister similarity restriction.

I don't know of any books, but some people are just afraid of commitment and being with only one person. I think it's the whole "as long as you both shall live" part that scares people.

To some folks it is a life choice that they have made. Some people have witnessed failed relationships from their parents, family and friends and as such refuse to commit themselves to the possibility of this happening in their lives. Others do not want to settle down and prefer to live independently and travel etc.

I don't know of any books, per se, on 'why' some people don't get married - but - I know of lots of folks who have chosen to live the single life . . . and luv the results of that choice. . .
FREEDOM and LIBERATION from the expectations of society!!! to perform in certain ways, and accomplish certain goals . . . good for them . . . wish I had known what they know, way back when, in my own life!
