Well, I, like 10 million other people need a Wii for Christmas for our 11 year old son who's PS2 just went on the blink. Anyway, I called Walmart, Meijer, Best Buy, Game Crazy & Game Exchange & everyone of the employees was rude.
One employee at the Game Exchange told me that the other employee was lying about their stock.
From what I am gathering, NO ONE knows when or how many they will be getting in, if ANY. Best Buy even told me that they won't have any this Friday. What a crock?
Yet the CEO came on the T.V. & said that they boosted production & they should be easy to get. Geesh? What a lie? Try to be a consumer out here trying to get one!!!!!
Anyway, any suggestions besides going on Ebay & spending twice the price?
I'm sure the employees are getting tired of people calling, but I work 40 hours a week, just like everyone else and can't just hover outside the store. Some of you don't live in big cities like I do with a lot of popululation & Wii's hard to find.

I got my son a Wii about a month ago at Target. Try calling them and see when they get their shipment. There was no one waiting to get one like at the other places like GameStop or Walmart. I was shocked! They had several of them. Give them a try and good luck!

Try going to an out of the way store, a store that might be hidden from view from most people. Try a smaller store, like a mom and pop store. Most people don't think about going there because they think that they don't get a lot of Wii. It's true but it's also true that not too many people go in there, so they don't sell as quickly as the big stores. Big stores put up ads, and everyone can see it. Mom and pop stores can't afford to put up ads, so not many people know about it.
Whoever said that Nintendo is upping the production is obviously lying because as high of a demand as the Wii is, I don't see how they cannot meet demands even after a year. Nintendo is deliberately causing the shortage in order to generate interest in the Wii, but it might backfire. If people can't find a Wii, they might go and get a PS3 or a 360.
You really can't blame the store employees for being rude. Imagine being in their shoes. Just about everytime you pick up a phone, someone asks if they have a Wii. That can be annoying after a few hundred calls each day.
Best Buy doesn't put the Wii up for sale on the weekdays. It usually puts them out for sale on Sunday, and I don't think you work on Sunday, so if you must, you'll just have to camp out. Whoever wants it more is going to get it. If you want it bad enough, you'll do whatever it takes. I wanted it bad enough, so I waited outside Target at 5 am in the morning in the freezing cold last year just to get a Wii at launch.
Seriously, there's no point in calling a store because when they say that they have it in stock, there's probably a line waiting to get one, and by the time, you get there, it will be sold out already. The answer is only as good as the question, so instead of asking if they know when they're getting Wii shipments or if there are any in stock, ask when they get their shipments each day, and then show up when the shipment arrives. Get in line and tell them that you want a Wii and don't leave until all the boxes have been opened. Try asking if they can hold a Wii for you. Get to know the employees, and they might tip you off.

First off, tell yourself this is only an electronic toy. It will not mean the end of the world if you cannot find one. Second, you have a few weeks until christmas. The stores will get the Wii's in and you can get one. A lot of toy companies hold back their product just before christmas to cause consumers to crave them. However, unless it is on of those super crazy christmas fad toys, you should not have too much problem getting one for christmas.

When did anyone from Nintendo say that the Wii would be easy to get? Everything I've read and seen has stated that Nintendo knows about the shortage. They said that they're currently producing 1.8 million a month (which makes sense, considering the sales figures) and that they're probably not going to meet demand for holiday sales.
Just ignore the rudeness of employees. It's their job to assist you; they can deal with it. Keep calling and keep searching.

Listen it's very hard to find a Wii right now, since Christmas is approaching, I have a Wii with 4 games, extra control, and the docking station where you wont have to worry about buying batteries all the time, if you want to find out more feel free to contact me via e-mail

I'd try Circuit City or Target, even Toys R Us before Best Buy or Wal-Mart. Like someone else mentioned above, the lesser-known stores where the majority of people won't be going.
Call to see when they get their shipments in.

"Yet the CEO came on the T.V. & said that they boosted production & they should be easy to get."
that must have been Reggie Fils Aime he is known for making bad promises. he said the new smash bros game was going to come out on Dec 3 but its actually Feb 10. damn him and his tricks.
your just going to have to wait like most people. i probably wont be able to get a wii before Christmas and i work at target. everyone that wants one will eventually get one.

Well, i would try online. Like you said, loads of people want a Wii for Christmas and i expect they will sell out quickly. So either go to a shop straight away when they get their shipment or, as i said, try online.
I hope you get one for your son.

Try buying one online at Best Buy or Future Shop. I live in a big city and saw a huge stack of them at my Future Shop just last week. They are out there.

Man, that sucks. I should've bought a few more when I bought mine about 6 weeks ago so I would've had some to sell!!
Find out at Best Buy when their truck comes in and be there when it does.
