Do you concentrate on the words or the music? (Being a musician myself, always the music comes first for me)

I focus more on the melody as I played trumpet in band for several years in school

I try to get the tune right but the it's words I really concentrate on. My son, when he was 8, used to sing "Chet's Nuts roasting on an open fire" and he'd giggle every time.
