It was Big bang Theory, with the dude from Roseanne. It is a pretty cute show. i like the room mate Sheldon!

Well, Chuck was on NBC before Heroes last night but it sounds more like you are describing Big Bang Theory that was on CBS in the timeslot before Heroes.
