A found a 1902 US penny in my pocket thanks to another question here on Yahoo! Answers asking for the contents of my pockets.

I wonder who may have held this penny in the last 105 years? Was it used to by bubble gum in 1902? To buy a hot dog at a Yankees game? Who was the most famous person ever to hold it ? I wonder....

Oh yes! I've often thought about that. It's neat to think about how many and what type of people have held the same coin!

yeah then I get grossed out at thinking where this coin has been. But I do know that there are certain dollars floating around that have wheresgeorge.com I believe so some things like that and what you do is when you get this bill you go to the site and enter the serial number on the lower portion of the bill and trace back over the past few years how many people around the world have had it. You would be surprised that alot of people actually take the time to log their location and how they got the bill. I did. Mine had been to Japan and back

That same question is asked by others. Some have taken to tracking dollar bills. Every once in a while, perhaps you have come across a dollar with the words, "Where's George?" on it. Trace it's history by going to:

Absolutely. And when I go into an old building I ALWAYS wonder who has been right where I am and seen what I am seeing.

No, I hate pennies. I always assume they have been inside someone's shoe, unsanitized hands, etc. Money is a fomite.
