The Patriot Act will be repealed probably in the next 4 years, irrespective of the "Terror" War we have defined.

The patriot act is the next step in a plan to have total control over the people .
Its sad that we would give away our very freedom to privacy and justice in this day and age .
Seems people are more manipulated today then in years past .
I know what happens over time with laws and so called justice .

Once we accept torture for terrorists it will become acceptable to torture kidnappers , rapists , bank robbers and anyone who breaks the law possibly .

How long till a phone call like this draws government arrests --- That weed you sold me is the" bomb" and I want you to get me the entire" Bush " load off it .

We have a war on drugs going and this information may well be passed along to the appropriate agency .

I love the conservative position that if you are not doing anything wrong then you have nothing to fear or hide .

This goes against the very core of our freedoms .
Thats ok though I have accepted that we are not free and have worked within the frame work to make as much money as possible from the system .

I wish it were different but sometimes you must play the hand dealt and not the one you wished you had .

Freedom has always been just an Illusion in this nation .
Its just becoming so obvious that we are losing what little is left at such a fast rate that anymore a kid can spot it today .

No, the government won't give up the patriot act.
It's a source of money practically unlimited. A program with no measurable objectives can request budgets increases for ever. There's no way to evaluate performance.
It's a powerful social control tool. Everyone can be tagged as enemy and taken out without proper legal procedures. The patriot act can defend itself, no room for dissenters.
It operates out of the Constitution (and against it). It helps when that GD piece of paper gets in the way.
It draws a very emotional line to polarize arguments. This is the "patriot" act: if you're against it, you're not a patriot.

The patriot act says that in order to protect your freedom, your freedom is going to be taken away and stored somewhere else. You don't have your freedom anymore but the good news is that the terrorist can't take it.
To protect the Constitution, the government is going to ignore it and violate it.
The government is not going to give away such power. Never ever a government took a freedom from the people and turned it back later. It never happened and it won't.
Check the history of the income tax. It was created to support the civil war. But the civil war ended and the government is still collecting at a rate 10 times higher or more than it was originally set.
Go and ask the government to stop that, try to explain them that the civil war is over.

As vaguely defined as "terrorism" is, and with the rate at which we're creating future terrorists through our actions, there seems to be no end in sight to the WOT.

Our tactics have to change, and the so-called Patriot Act needs to be repealed as soon as possible. It's not doing anything that can't be done without violating the rights of our citizens.

Since there is no such thing as a war on terror I suggest the so called 'patriot' act be repealed immediately. How can we war on a concept or a method? We can't, but we can war on a country or a physical entity which terror is not.

Do you think there will be an end to the War on Terror? Has their been a successful conclusion to the War on Drugs, or the War on Poverty?? The Patriot Act will be repealed and replaced.

What war on terror? Has the threat of terrorism changed the things you do on a daily basis? Has the threat of terrorisn influenced your decisions? Your job? Your bank accounts? Who you choose for a doctor? a school? For me, my life has changed not at all. And please do not say it is because of the Patiot Act, because I was perfectly fine before it. The Patriot Act has the potential to threaten our own population and should be repealed on that basis alone. Acts of terrorism such as 9/11 must be dealt with, but the Patroit Act is not the way..

There is no end to the war on terror. It's been designed to be at least of half century war between Muslims and Christians. This war was manufactured by the central banks to crash the US economy and make all the citizens become debt slaves and consolidate the wealth into the hands of a few.

Some parts may be overturned by a challenge to the court. War on terror is semantic. Like war on dishonesty. This Patriot Act is farce and government tyranny.

sure, i'd help an entire repeal of the Patriot Act. there is, and replaced into, no want for this form of law. i'd additionally help an entire repeal of the militia Commissions Act as properly. those 2 products of law fairly lots eroded what replaced into left of the form.
