If it is gas, could be the fan, the pump or the gas valve. depends on make and model, some don't have a fan, some don't have the pump inside.

Could very well be something as simple as the boiler casing being loose. Maybe some of the screws or fixings have come loose over time. Always makes sense to try the simplest (and cheapest) things first!!

if it is humming and oil fired your oil filter is bocking up, if it is rumbleing your airways inside are sooting up. you must be more specific. is it a vibration such as a circulator problem. also gas or oil. and is it a boiler or furnace, boilers boil water ,furnaces scorch air.

sounds like air in the fuel line. you need to bleed the line
