How come it feels like Christmas is coming earlier and earlier every year??? It isn't even Thanksgiving and there are Christmas trees for sale and wreaths hanging all around. (ohh.. not to mention the Christmas LIGHTS people already have turned on....) I just don't remember things like this happening until AT least Thanksgiving.

The shops are just competing against each other for people's money - and you're right, Christmas goods do seem to appear earlier every year. We even saw Christmas cards on sale in early July. This morning, we saw real Christmas trees on sale at a garden centre. Not many people are likely to buy one of those in mid November.

The commercial world has moved christmas shopping up a week, so they have a week to get more cash from people. Christmas always comes the same time though, we're just in a different world than we used to remember where Christmas stuff wasn't on sale until after Thanksgiving. I think it's a little annoying how they keep moving the shopping up every year, it makes me think about it a little to early and then i have to keep presents in my closet for about a month, it's really not fun. :(

It isn't a problem strictly at Christmas. As soon as Christmas is done, and you are out shopping for those bargains, take a good look. Valentines Day stuff will be creeping onto the shelves at New Years. I have found Halloween stuff in August and School hasn't even begun here yet. I wish they would just slow it down a bit and understand that such heavy and early advertising blitzes tend to turn people off rather than make them buy.

I've been annoyed by the same thing this year... I went to our local mall this year BEFORE Halloween and they already had their Christmas trees up and glowing! I was with a friend and we were both just disgusted... Not because of Christmas but the fact that it was still more then 2 months away. I just feel it's becoming more and more of a marketing holiday, instead of the special holiday it is.

Christmas seems to come earlier and earlier every year, but at the same time, the number of people who are excited about it decrease every year. I really try to get excited, but it's just not the same now. Malls cant decorate as much, barely anything going down the streets, so many people are offended by Christmas, it's ridiculous.

well stores have started putting things out earlier, therefore people assume it's time to buy it and put it up. It has gotten earlier in the year. There was stuff at stores in the beginning of Oct!
