I don't believe in stealing, but I do have a thing for expensive jewelry and nice clothes, but I agree with the previous answerer. I don't believe in stealing.
But if I had to, either something expensive or something that I would be embarrassed someone seeing me buying.

No reason to steal, I would never "have to steal."
I can make a deadfall trap to kill animals for food. This will also give me skins for clothing.
I can build shelter and start fires for heat and protection from the elements.
The woods are full of edible berries, nuts and leaves.
Y'all might "have to steal", but a country boy can survive!
Seriously, once you have food, clothing, heat and shelter covered ... there is no reason you would "have to steal!"

If you have to find nice ideas for woodworking i can suggest you to check here http://woodworking.toptips.org
It's perfect if you are just starting out or if you're a seasoned carpenter. you will like it for sure !
It has almost 20.000 woodworking plans and you have a CAD/DWG software to view and edit the plans. You have step-by-step instructions with photos and high quality blueprints and schematics. If you are a beginner this is the easiest way to start your woodworking projects, and if you already have experience you can anyway find a lot of interesting ideas!

1st you never have to steal.
But the only thing a person could be justified in stealing ( if by some freak of nature no work was to be had and no one was willing to help) in my opinion would be food.

I am assuming that if I "had to"steal it's because I have nothing - no money - no home - no friends/family to help me - no help at government agencies/food banks etc and the choice is to steal food to live or die.

Along with stone, mud and animal parts, wood was one of the first materials worked by early humans. Microwear analysis of the Mousterian stone tools used by the Neanderthals show that many were used to work wood. The development of civilization was closely tied to the development of increasingly greater degrees of skill in working these materials.

I couldn't bring myself to steal.
I've had stuff stolen from me. I know what it feels like from the other side.
