You can't really compare the two. The Packers were smash mouth all the way. The Patriots play a stop me if you can wide open offense. The Packers could not have kept up with the speed of the Patriots and the Pats could not match power with the Packers.

If the current Pats team, or any other team for that matter, including the Dolphins, lined up against the 60's Packers they would win by many touchdowns.

But in comparing them to teams that they competed against during their time, the 60's Packers still have the edge.

But this decade is not over yet.

In addition to the problem of comparing different decades, because the style of play and even the rules change, you have to wait and see how the whole Patriots thing plays out. Up until this year they were extremely good, but beatable, and some of their wins were very, very close, and could even be attributed to some luck (as many championships are). This year is a bit different, and if they pull it off, will change the whole picture.

In the end, though, apples and oranges.

It's tough to compare NFL teams historically because of the way the game has changed. Realistically, those great Packers teams would be destroyed by even the worst teams in the NFL today because of the size and strength differences. Linebackers today are bigger than the linemen were back then, and the speed is far greater in today's game.

As far as dynasties are concerned, I'd still give the Packers the nod. If New England wins again this year, though, then they will arguably be one of the greatest dynasties of all time. If they could have that 19-0 season, it would be tough to dispute their place.

Well in terms of actual football the 60's Packers would win because today's players are soft in comparison. They were much more rugged back in the day.

The Packers of the 60's were much tougher and would get penalized a lot if playing today. But they'd kill Brady. And Moss. It would be an interesting game. They would laugh at today's rules.
