If TR could see who was President 100 years after he was, he'd have a conniption. Let the record show, though, that TR said the above in 1918, well after he was President, and was in fact a dying man, because he had a very nasty feud with then-President Woodrow Wilson. Just trying to provide a little context. He's still right, and as long as Nixon, Reagan and Bush (either one)-type Republicans are in the White House, the Democrats better speak up; we know the other side did when we held the White House, and will again next year.

There are some little publicized (well.. damn near hidden would be more appropriate) letters between he and a few other of the continental congress boys about the "crop" of "weed" they had growing and how it was a particularly fine crop. Perhaps they meant tobacco... who am I to judge :P

One things for sure... there was more liquor at the Continental Congress than should have been physically possible for them to all drink. .... .... .... ....

Plus they all owned slaves (it wasn't exactly taboo yet).

I'm sure if I wanted to nit-pick I could think of more things.. but the good the man did outweighs the "bad".. most of which is just "bad" from a point of view (minus slavery obviously)
