I have the following person definitions to describe these words:
Ignorant: Not knowing any better or understanding something. "I am ignorant when it comes to the spanish language."
Dumb: A person knowing better, but having a lapse in judgement. "Bob ate the spicy chicken, even though he suffers from cronic heartburn, my how dumb."
Stupid: A person who knows something but completely chooses to ignore the fact, foregoing all consequences.
"The stupid man tied a rope to a 3,000 lb bull and then tried to walk it like a puppy, while wearing a red sweater."
Dee Dee Dee: A person who knows absolutely nothing, contributes to society in no way, completely lacks the thought process to understand that the reason they know nothing is because the refuse to listen and/or comprehend. Foregoing all sense of worth in the universe, not by any other means then by choice,
"The Dee Dee Dee sits around all day staring at the wall refusing to work because it's to much trouble, and still can't figure out why he can't afford to buy a video game."

I've never met a retarded or brain damaged person who was dumb or stupid. Willfully choosing either, applying it to yourself is simply beyond reason. Ignorance implies only a lack of knowledge.
