Of course not, you will be assimilated. Resistance is futile. J/k. Of course, it is. You can call yourself whatever you want.

Actually that is what is great about this country. You can believe whatever you want. If you are a conservative agreeing with the liberal on some things you are among a majority of people in the center of the American political spectrum along with those who are liberal but agree with conservatives on some issues. It is the extremists who cause most of the problems and who seem to be the most outspoken. They are the flamers and the trolls you see on YA most often. Keep your head about you and don't let the trolls get to you. Defend what you believe and don't be too attached to labels.

It is OK and the basis of the American political system. The problem is the original conservative doctrine has been warped to a point that it is dangerous to the middle class which is the meat of america. The democrats are are twisted as well just not so blantantly or severly.

I have a lot of conservative leanings, myself, but here's the problem...
There are no true conservatives holding office today.
Once the Democrats kick their buts again in 2008, maybe the republican party can get back to its true conservative principles?
And good riddance to the imperialist, fascist neo-cons.

It would be just fine if you actually had something intelligent to say. I'm just glad you play for the other team. I have read some of your Q&As, and you are obviously lacking in any original opinions whatsoever. You just keep regergitating the same republican nonsense that all the other right-wingers on this site are. Please, keep posting. You are making us look better evertime do. You, and others like you on YA! are the best allies we have.

Isn't WHAT what we're supposed to be doing for one another?
I have several conservative viewpoints on a variety of topics, although I tend to call them "realistic" viewpoints. On other topics, I remain undecided, neither strongly opposing or embracing either side. Yet I consider myself very liberal at the core.
Keeping our mind open to considering other viewpoints is doing yourself a huge favor.

It's your right to be conservative.
It's questionable whether it's anyone's right to through force or coercion make other people be conservative. And for many people, the use of force or coercion to change other people's belief systems is the definition of a conservative.
