Oh well , perhaps Mr Tony Bennetts vile racist past was a damn sight worse than the McCanns error of judgement on May 3rd.
Never mind Tony, Veritas love you, ya bigot.

Tony Bennett added: "Obviously speaking as a qualified social worker I was concerned that no action was being taken."
Imagine him being a social worker for an immigrant family! Jeez, don't bare thinking about does it.

The Mcanns left small children alone. This is wrong, never advised by any child protection/safety organizations, whether at home or on holiday.
Having a medical degree should not allow the Mcanns to be absolved of their responsibility of care, which it seems they have but I don't think Mr. Bennett should be attempting civil action, but maybe if the official agencies did their job properly he wouldn't have an excuse to do so. And as you rightly point out his own questionable history puts him in a group of people in glass houses who have no business throwing stones...
The trouble is in the UK social services, are ineffectual, disorganized and largely incompetent. Generally their policies prefer to victimize certain elements, who are maybe lower down the ladder socially and educationally - the outcome of leaving children alone is far more severe in a 'deprived' family. Social workers seem incapable of processing the facts of individual cases and accepting that neglect of children takes many different forms and has no class barrier...

If they had left their children alone in the UK the Social Services would have prosecuted them. You would think that educated professionals would know better, but hey lets face it people like that always think they are above the law. If they ever get prosecuted for child neglect, they will not be penalised like a low paid worker or single parent who goes out on the booze. Look how they've been gadding around Europe and North Africa on an extended vacation....."I'm A Celebrity....Keep The Fun Fair Going. Evan had an audience with the campest Pope I've ever seen.

jamie rose,
i had a controling clever partner for 9 yrs and have got an 8 yr old boy together,i split with him nearly 2yrs ago(finally),the thing was his mum (my ex-mother-in-law)is a top socail worker and has my son at the moment as we are in a custody battle cause of allegations from my ex who said to me ages ago "if you ever leave me i will make your life hell" knowing that the best way to get to me was through my children, my point is my daughter still lives with me but my son has to stay with grandma until it has been investigated(im on benefits)she works for the child protection team and has always wanted my son and we have never got on. the allegations are i was neglecting my son, im innocent and going through hell as the socail worker,s on the case all seem to end up siding with grandma(her friends)
i cant stop crying as i feel its so unfair so i have no confidence in ss as they have done no justice to my little boy

Surely any prosecution would have to be in the public interest? If Madeleine is found, I don't see how prosecuting her parents will benefit her or the other two children. There seems to be an atmosphere of anti-McGann hysteria building here...their childcare arrangements might have been ill-thought out, but saying they were responsible for their daughter's abduction is like saying a woman in a short skirt who got raped deserved it. Let's focus on prosecuting the paedophiles, shall we?

They left 3 children under the age of four alone on more than one occasion. You seriously think that the average single mother on benefits would still be allowed to keep the care of her remaining children if one of her kids had vanished in these circumstances? Exactly, I think not. That is the test in this case. As Clarence Mitchell would say, it's ludicrous !!!

Hey I know I am going to get the thumbs down but is this basically stating that I can go out to the pub in the evening and leave all my younger children (ages 10, 6, 3) on there own in the house - I would not be breaking any law!

Any case would have to be brought in Portugal as TB probably knows. I suspect his motive was just to highlight the child neglect and he was right to do so.
