Sorry to hear about your Mum passing away Christmas is difficult when you lose someone close to you I know from experience. So many memories, just try to remember the good ones you shared. I'm finding it a bit difficult to look forward to or even think about Christmas yet, as my Sister is in hospital at the moment waiting for an operation to remove a growth that might be cancer back again. So at the moment all our family want for Christmas is for her to be given some good news from the Doctor and be healthy. Hope you have a good Christmas, keep you chin up!!

Sorry to hear that! Both my parents are gone (mom died first in October, 2000) and I remember the heartache and grief that Christmas gave me.

I personally struggle through Christmas, but its for other reasons. I guess I just see people getting into the fast paced excitement of what they expect to come, only to get bored and depressed with the season come December 26. It wasn't the true date of the birth of Christ, and the church adopted it from the solstice practice. But, mainly, the reason I do not look forward to it is more and more the message of the birth of Christ becomes less and less of a part of the way it is celebrated!!! Is it no wonder that Christmas is the most depressing time of the year for many, where suicide in America is at its highest rate? Its like a toy a kid gets. They are excited about it for a little while, then become bored with it, and want to pack it away! Luke 2 shows that this did not happen with the shepherds keeping watch (and they were working on Christmas eve). They didn't have a tree, presents, turkey dinner, carols, and festive lights, but, when they met the Christ child, they came away rejoicing, instead of having to fight "Christmas depression".

My condolences for your loss. I lost a family member a couple of years ago and last year was my first Christmas without them. It will be very strange for you but make sure you have the rest of your family for support and remember that your Mother would want you to enjoy your day. Whether you believe in God or not it is still nice to think that our departed are looking in on us from somewhere. x

i seem forward to spending time with human beings i admire. it would desire to be any time of the year and we don't inevitably would desire to make christmas the focal element. i in my opinion seem forward to christmas being over nonetheless. it form of feels like the hype will become overwhelming for individuals to constantly be happy and flow determining to purchase even while they are able to't rather locate the money for it. i ask your self what christmas would be like if human beings merely went decrease back to the way it replaced into in less demanding cases. With purely giving handmade presents like a handmade toy out of wood or some thing that replaced into baked? bq: provide your brother a mirror so he can seem at himself.

I'm sorry to hear that. I know it will be pretty hard on you this year. I'm spending this Christmas Eve with my girlfriend. She's a very special lady and I want to make it a very special holiday for both of us.

I hate Christmas. Nothing but sad, lonely, depressing memories. And add divorce to this year, I can't wait to celebrate Christmas alone...again.

I am yes, I still miss my mom very much and especially at Christmas, but she adored Christmas and it would be disrespectful in her memory to be miserable over Christmas.
