No amount of POUNDS can eradicate poverty of India. There's a thoroughly corrupt adminidtrative and political system deep rooted in this country.Every pound will be pocketed by these corrupt ones. The poor will remain where they were/are. They are 40% or more of the population of this country. They will have to remain poor, uneducated and diseased always , so that the corrupt politicians can make fool of them for eternity by means of so called "General Election".......once in every 5 years.

The exact amount would be equal to capital needed to educate all uneducated Indians + capital needed to improve infrastructure requirements of our country + capital needed to teach the farmers new farming techniques to improve production and quality + capital needed to make more n more Indians self dependent.
This will be only possible if corruption and politics is totally nullified.

There is no reasonable answer. First, you need to define poverty. Secondly, any money provided would need to be invested into productive means. Simply handing out money would destroy the world monetary policy, result in uncontrolled inflation and be consumed in a finite period of time.

If you can eliminate all the politicians, corrupt bureaucracy, middle man and natural calamities , the poverty would be eradicated by zero Pound expenditure..
