No, this would have shown itself during the dating process. And being the women I am, never would I stand for that. I do not need anyone telling me what to do, and i would never expect a spouse to listen to my every whim and desire for their life. It must be a group effort... Conversation and communication are crucial... Compromise is a necessity in any relationship.. God bless****

I am ashamed to say yes I WAS. I married at a very early age of 16 out of a foster home, quit high school . He was much older than I. We were married for 18 years. The "daddy" behavior escalated when he began to control everything, mental, verbal and finally physical abuse. I escaped only because he almost beat me to death. Do you know why? Because I wanted to go back to school. I am happy to say now, that I have completed my Masters degree in nursing and after counseling, have remarried for LOVE. I am very happy in my life.

Is he authoritative towards you, or are you a peaceful lamb? There is no problem being a peaceful lamb when you are not in the presence of the wolf.

Seriously, show him that you have a will, that he is not responsible for you, but he must love you, and respect you as a companion, not a daughter or a servant that must do whatever he wants. If there is love, he will understand, and so will you.
