Just use the cross-canceling method!

a.) 8/5=2/x ==> 8x=2(5) ==> 8x=10 ==> x=10/8 ==> x=1.3

b.) 5/x=22/9 ==> 22x=5(9) ==> 22x=45 ==> x=?

c.) x/4=12/17 ==> 17x=4(12) ==> x=?

Just multiply the numbers hat are diagonal from each other. Draw an X between the fractions if it helps!

8/5=2/x
8x=10
x=10/8=1 2/10=1.2

5/x=22/9
22x=45
x=2 1/22= 2.0

x/4=12/17
17x=48
x=2 14/17= 2. 8
