Johnny Depp said in an interview that Captain Jack Sparrow was sexually ambiguous. All those months at sea can get very lonely for a pirate.

the question is irrelevant as Capt Jack Sparrow is only a character played by Johnny Depp and was based loosely on one of the Rolling Stones both straight.

No he's not gay, he's just extremely flamboyant and comfortable with his sexuality. He was probably full of innuendos since he worked with lots of sea-men (haha) and knew what the best way to behave was. It also gave the audience a "what is he" element, the Woman, the Men, the gays all loved him - now that is a massive target audience to attract!

Look at it this way. He could have had a drunk Elizabeth Swann and threw it away. We can conclude that he must be because Elizabeth is hot. We can also conclude that Sparrow sucks as a pirate because a real pirate would taken advantage of her. Yes, he is a gay pirate who sucks.

I don't think he was supposed to be gay. Johnny Depp modelled Sparrow on Keith Richards, I think that's really where the voice comes etc. comes from.

For the ignoramus who claims that Johnny Depp is gay; which gutter did you find that little nugget in and would you care to substantiate it?
Whether he is or not, I can't be bothered to speculate, but I do know that he has been with his current female partner for about a decade and they are raising 2 kids together.
