Unfortunately it's a problem in many countries. I read an article recently that stated that Mexico was poised to overtake the American numbers. I will be happy when that happens because I'm tired of everyone assuming that all Americans are fat. Some of us are concerned about our weight, and I personally watch what I eat every day, not only for appearance's sake but also for my health.
I think that now that Americans are aware that they're getting this "fat" reputation, more of us will exercise control and try to lose some of the weight. I myself am trying to teach my son to eat healthier alternatives and he said to me the other day that he didn't want McDonald's food because it's too fattening, whereas before he would be happy to go. So, I think with good teaching from parents and others about nutrition, maybe our attitudes can change.

There's probably some truth to that question. As a whole American people tend to be bigger and fatter than Europeans. I'm sure it has to do with the diet. With too many fast food joints available in American they have decidedly taken upon their diet many more trans fats. While education about food intake is a high priority nowadays in America, it may be a few years before you start to really see Americans slim down. If more Americans would adopt the European diet we would see some of the pounds melt off.

All cultures have their fat people. So I do not know if it is true or not, what you think about Americans because there are a lot of Europeans in America.

Well, some American people are fat, and some are not. Some European people are fat and some are not.
You can find people all over the world who are fat, skinny, tall, short, blond hair, brown hair, black hair and red haired.
The point is...it is a lot worse to find people in countries who judge others...when in affect they are trying to boost their own self-image.
However you look asker...it is OK.

Either way is unhealthy

Unfortunately, obesity is a growing (no pun intended) problem in the States. All of us are not fat but there are a lot of porkers.
