Technology is a great resource however, it is difficult for technology to do everything a teacher can do. For instance if a child is having trouble reading before Christmas break, a teacher can invent a game for them to play while they are on a road trip for vacation, etc. Technology could never create trust, either.

Like nothing can replace parents,technology may at the best, reduce dependence on a teacher but never replace him.It's altogether a different matter if they give him a new name or designation in future.Where will be the personal touch in teaching and learning without a teacher?

As a teacher myself, I believe that technology is a great resource, but having the 'warm body' there is always best!

Yes it can.It has started here in my country. Teachers are starting to be mere facilitators.
