no because I am disabled and you can park there all day or night

this depends on the local authority. In Great Yarmouth their parking places allow 3 hours but the on street parking run by Norfolk county you can park all day. The notices will tell you.
Some car parks Doncaster and Horncastle in Linconshire come to mind you get 3 hours free in a disabled bay and you have to pay if there is no disabled bay available.
Little tip though on a yellow line you get 3 hours at the end of that time you have to move but not far a foot will do because the attendant makes a note of the position of you tyre valve and if when he checks again it is in a different postion he has no way of knowing if you have driven away and come back again. Also in a park area where a time is allowed and then you must stay away for a time before returning with the badge you can park all day but make sure the expiry date on the badge can be seen I slipped up once and got a ticket. Just in case the badge is no good to you in Westminster and the City of London and part of Camden. If you plan to park there you need to get a special ticket

Different areas , different rules. Difference is between marked and signed disabled parking places and bays on roads, where there is no time limit, disabled parking in controlled areas where it is not a disabled bay but the blue ticket/badge allows you to park on yellow lines for up to 3 hours. Lastly you have car parks, with designated disabled bays. These can be council or privately operated.. rules will vary between car parks, Some will charge for parking, others will be free. Parking can be limited from 1 hour upwards. 2 or 3 hours are quite common, especially in supermarket car parks... Other car parks are unlimited., for example , hospitals , Look at the rules on the board when entering.

It is DEFINATELY 3 hours! Also when parking on double-yellow lines you have to judge whether you will cause an obstruction to traffic. It is ok parking up on double-yellows but you do not know who else will be parking up too and if there are cars parked on both sides of the road it will then be up to the discretion of the Traffic Warden to decide who has caused the obstruction. It is extremely difficult to park in town where we live because there are only 3 disabled parking bays in total. When we have parked on double-yellows the Traffic Warden always tells us we will cause an obstruction (which we won't 9 times out of 10) but unless we want a fixed fine we have to move.
Go to your local council and ask if they can organise a copy of the rules for you. Doing this may well prevent you getting you fined.

Some spaces are time restricted but there will be signs, always check, some car parks have disabled bays and you still have to pay, my local rail station for example. if it is a single bay isolated from the car park, then there is more likely to be a time restriction. I always use the same car park, where I know there is no time restriction.

It's 3 hours then you have to pay when you got your badge you should have got a little cardboard clock type thing thats so the parking attendants know how long you have been there it's the same for yellow lines you only have 3 hours there aswell

I don't know about all states, but Ca.'s laws stink at least in the L.A. area.. You can park on the street all day even if it's a two hour parking zone. But don't be parked on the side of the street that is being cleaned on street cleaning day. They will write you up, even with a handicapped sticker, license plate, or placard.

no, the restrictions are for if a disabled driver has parked where it is signed that they can, but which is not actually a disabled place to park, in these cases you can park usually for up to 3 hours, if any of that made sense haha
