If interviwer is opening the door, it means he/she wants you to go first. Do so and say thank you as you waslk in front of him/her. You'll seem wishy washy and not confident if you don't acknowledge his gesture.

If the interviewer is holding the door for u, just go and thank him/her. That means you are leaving before the interviewer.

If the interviewer opens the door and immediately walks out, its a no brainer that you will follow after him/her right. That is leaving after the interviewer.

So it all depends. Dont have to think too much or be too bothered about it. Just have to use your discretion.

Yes, if the interviewer holds the door for you. Although you are the job seeker, you are also the guest. The host always opens the door for the guest. After you walk out, you turn towards the interviewer to wait for him.

The interviewer usually opens the door, shakes your hand, lets YOU leave the office, and goes back to his desk to write his comments about you.

What's so tough about that?

The interviewee. As per your question, you have been asked to leave. If the interviewer had asked you to follow, then it would be appropriate for the interviewee to follow lead.

Look them eye to eye and if they point or say after you then go. Generally you should go first because yuo are on "their turf" but if they seem like they are going to leave then let them. That is why eye to eye contact and the brief pause helps.

conserving the door could nicely be an illustration of chivalry, yet for me that is merely an illustration of courtesy and unselfness. that is not significant who you carry it for. appreciate for elders is a loss of life characteristic too. a lady could strategically place herself so a guy could actual open or carry the door for her.
