I dread this time of year. I think decorations are fine as long as I don't have to put them up or take them down and they are put up AFTER thanksgiving, not before labor day.

I think the holiday is too commercialized, too.

Why can't it come every other year instead of yearly? :)

Lakisha, I really love Christmas day, but I HATE the Christmas season. There are too many greedy companies who try to turn it into a greedy free for all, and they start in OCTOBER! The season is stressful and every place you go is crowded. I'm not religious at all, but I still think it's sad how a positive religious holiday has been bastardized and turned into a time of excess and stress.

i agree with you to a certain extent
decorations AFTER Thanksgiving
it is WAY to commecialized
you might as well wish your monthly was every other
but keep in mind it is first and foremost a celebration of Christ
and that is a worthy thing
the joy on little kids faces when they wake up that morn to see what Santa left
your own joy when you were a kid even if you didnt get exactly what you wanted
i think ive got an idea what your going through this is my first Christmas withouteither Mom or Dad but i refuse to become a scrooge take care of your other business and keep a strong upper lip.

The holiday IS too commercialized. Thanksgiving is a much better family celebration.

i only look forward to it cause of the birth of the LORD JESUS CHRIST, but it is too commercialized, and money marketed. the season is based on getting gifts and making it a contest to give and get the best. i just try to make a thoughtful small gift, on a small budget, send out homemade cards with my sons handwriting on them, and hope people understand that a military family has NO money. I like the christmas lights, but why can't we leave the lights up year round, just turn them on AFTER thanksgiving!!!!

AMEN TO THAT!!! i agree, the holidays are too commercialized. Christmas has long since lost it's meaning! most of my loved ones are dearly departed and if i didn't have children, i would just completly ignore the holidays!!

the holiday trips are here, there is not extra finding forward to them. i like the hustle and bustle and if human beings are not happy i attempt to lead them to happy. Now i'm staying out of the shops. basically bypass out to consume and function a sturdy time.

I'm not looking foward to the holidays at all.
The true meaning of Christmas has been stomped on..all that's left is CEO's lauging in their mansions as we spend money on meaningless things.

my family is the small percentage of the human race that celebrated Christmas all year long....this year we have been so busy that we didn't have time to take down all of the lights outside....so we are half ready. lol. oops.

I hate to face the airports. I have to change planes in 35 minutes at Chicago O'Hare. I'm dreading that!
