I know I'm probably in the minority but I'm not. The man is nothing but a selfish egotistical jerk who Yankee Management shouldv'e made him grovel before they even bothered talking to him. He showed his true colors by opting out & only came back b/c nobody was going to give in & give him $350 million. All his proclaiming that he loves NY is bogus.

I'm happy. I'm a Yankees fan and an A-Rod fan.

It's not bogus that he loves NY. I don't think he ever wanted to leave, he just wanted more money. His contract was designed with this opt out in mind all along. No one should have been surprised when he exercised it. If the Yanks wanted to take such a hard line against it, they shouldn't have allowed the clause in the first place when we got him from Texas.

People let jealousy and envy guide their judgements of Alex just too much. I'm thrilled that we're getting him back (most likely).

It'd be nice if once in a while anyone acknowledged that this is not finalized yet.

People forget the reason he gave for opting out of his contract. His concern (or so he said) was with the Yankees core people returning. I do not think it is a coincidence that he came back their way after they retained Posada and Mariano. To me, he showed his true colors by coming back and doing the deal without his agent. Glad to have him back and I look forward to more MVP seasons out of him.

He's the best player in baseball.

All Yankee fans should be happy he's back, even the ones that have done nothing but badmouth him the past month.

Everyone still hates him, but in typical Yankee fan fashion they will love him again by the end of April.

I AM! 10 more years for "THE CURSE OF THE A-ROD"!

It's OK, it's just 10 more years without a championship NY! You went 18 years before Steiny could buy 4 more in the 90's...but most of you bandwagon Yankee fans probably don't realize that, huh...

even though I think you changed your name I think you were critical of him during the season.

I don't like A-Rod or the Yankees but that is cool that you didn't change your mind about him because he was back.

I think its a waste of 275 million dollars to bring A-ROD back!!! I am not going to be watching much of the 2008 yankees because of this....He cant get it done when they need him to do it....He is all about himself!!! The Yankees should have let him go!!! WHAT A WASTE!!!!
