i havent seen a period in 13 yrs and im 49.i had a tummy tuck 6 wks ago and 4 wks later i had a vaginal bleed i had a week clear and now im having another vaginal bleed. iv been back to see me consultant last night for my tummy tuck check and everything is fine with that. i told him that iv got my appt to go get the check up on this bleeding he said theres definatly a problem with me bleeding. has anyone out there had this problem and what was there out come??? im expecting the consultant to say that i need hysterectomy which doesnt bother me, its just why have 2 bleeds after 13 yrs and why after a tummy tuck?? any info is greatly recieved.

am not an expert on this hunny,but maybe the surgery you had has caused this reaction. am not to sure,but i know how you feel about the bleeding. I'm only 34 ,and after being sterilised after a c-section,i have as many as 3 periods a month. i see the gynaecologist next week. i am just hoping they will give me a hysterectomy,as i have been having this trouble for nearly 2 years now. i was told having a c-section and being sterilised at the same time was not advisable after the procedure had already been done. i suppose a c-section is similar to a tummy tuck in some ways. i have had nothing but problems since. really hope you manage to get everything sorted very soon. take care xx warm regards xx

Post menopausal vaginal bleeding can be cause by a couple of things. You need to have a D&C and a endometrial biopsy to diagnose the problem.
