No, I say good morning, afternoon, evening or how are you. but when I say how are you I hate that people do not say. IF i did not want to know I would not have asked. My Dad used to say I am dying to see if people who say how are you are on auto pilot.

nope, not an American thing..but I HAVE noticed it alot over there in England. My b/f and all of his friends say it lol, but sometimes they say 'you' first... ie: you aw'right?
