2001 Chrysler Neon 2.0
I turn the key back, take it out, but my car keeps running. However, I can only do this while in park and I do have to turn the key back as usual. While it's still running with the key out, I cannot put the car in gear or move the stearing wheel. This happens only one in 20 starts, but it is a huge hassle nonetheless. Please help.

do you have any check engine lights that are on? you can cycle the key 3 time to check them (turn it on and off 3 times) but do not start and then turn it to the on spot as if it where all ready running and watch the check engine light and right down the codes and look them up at www.allpar.com i would try and reset the pcm to do this disconnect the battery for about 30 mins and then hook it back up

The switch in your keyed ignition is shot. Don't run it like that. Be safe and get it towed to a garage. Or just be like a redneck and wire in a toggle switch for your starter like my friend did one time. Its gangsta but it works.
