I grew up on a farm and moved to the city where I had my tires slashed, mailbox stolen and even had food stolen off my barbeque grill.
I moved to the suburbs where my house was burglarized.
How I wish I were still on the farm!

I live in the city. I was born in the country.
I like living in the city for now, because I'm young and it has a lot to offer me. But I am planning on moving back to the countryside in about 10 years.
I think it's an age related issue in a lot of cases.

I live in a village on the extreme outskirts of a major city so almost the best of both worlds you may think.
The downside as far as being near the city is concerned is the noise especially on a cloudy day or night, the hundreds of city workers from a nearby 'new town' who use our village as a shortcut and the general anonymity in which many of the village inhabitants (former city dwellers) prefer to live.
Traditional gatherings such as New Years Eve parties just don't happen now.
I would love to move back to a traditional village life but the 'toonies' are prepared to travel ever increasing distances to their city jobs and are pushing rural house prices to ridiculous heights. Since I cannot afford to take on a large mortgage at my age I have to put up and shut up.
All say aaaah!!

I live in the country. I love living in the country. I lived in the city for a few months and didn't like it at all. My advantages of living in the country are that it is peaceful and quiet and you have all the privacy in the world. You can see the stars almost every night, as opposed to the city. I really see no disadvantages of living in the country.

I live about 15 min outside of town, not a very big town either, we have one mall and a couple of good resturaunts. I love the country, there are several things in the country that you can do that you can't in the city. for ex: you can burn leaves, you don't have to worry about being to loud, no nosy neighbors, and best of all, its qiuet and peacful. Sometimes I do wish I lived closer to grocery stores, and blockbuster, although now I have Netflix, so even thats a plus.
Country is the way to go for me, I wouldn't trade unless I had no choice!

i live in a town next to the countryside, so that is an advantage there, but being land locked means the disadvantage is not being near the coast

Hey Vernon! I live in a little town in Texas by the coast...advantanges are that all my family lives closeby and everybody knows everybody and helps everyone when they can..........BUT it gets to be a litte Payton Place at times. Also, they have gamerooms which i love to go to when i have extra money, like i have won a 32" LCD HD TV and 2 very nice bbq pits which i sold. Then they have cash drawings which by the way i won one yesterday and got $25.00 cash..........one time i won over $500.00 in 4 days!!!That one nite i won a bbq pit i sold it for $250.00 and won a cash drawing for $50.00 so i walked out that nite with $300.00 cash in pocket. OK, disadvantges are that there is not much to do other than that and there is no public transportation?? (I don't have a car.) BUT i have alot of friends who will come pick me up to go to the gameroom. Now i use to live in Austin where there is alot of music festivals going on and ALOT to do and public transpo..........BUT the cost of living there is very high now. It wasn't back in 1979 when i first moved there so i have to make the best of what i have here for now until i hit the lotto!!!!! I'm glad u r back buddy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
