I'm 2cm dilated, I'm having contractions off and on. This morning I woke up with a little bloody discharge and I'm having some contractions but not strong nor regular. How long do you guys think I will go into labor? This is my 2nd child, with my first I was induced so I don't know what to expect if I go into labor on my own without the induction.

Bloody discharge is a big sign that labor could start within 48 hours.

Is your bag packed?

Everyone is so different and I know that you want a definite answer right now, I truly wish I could give it to you because I know exactly how you feel I just gave birth 2 weeks and 2 days ago and it came out of nowhere. I was 1 1/2 cm dilated for 3 weeks and eventually had horrible contractions and still 1 1/2 cm dilated. I thought that I had lost all of my mucous plug within the 3 weeks but I hadn't. I can say, however, that I did not have a bloody show until the day of my baby's birth, it came out along with the contractions. Contractions lasted from 10 am until 8 pm and I had only dilated to 5 1/2 cm by then, I will not tell you the rest. I can also tell you that my contractions were very irregular, between 7 minutes apart and 1 minute apart within the above mentioned hours. But, I can say this: be prepared for anything and stay positive no matter what! As mentioned, everyone is so different but as for me bloody show was a sure sign! Congratulations!!!!!!!!!

First of all, it is not unusual to be dilated to 2 cm with second or third pregnancies early in your third trimester. The contractions you're having are probably braxton hicks contractions, which prepare the cervix for the delivery. The bloody show (mucus plug) can happen any time during the pregnancy, preferably late and close to the delivery date, but not necessarily. You will definitely know when you are in labor.... for instance, will wake you from a sound sleep. The pain may/may not be great, but only uncomfortable, but you will know. You will know when your water breaks by not being able to stop the flow, as in urinating. Remember, your body is a great machine; it will tell you when it is time, which may/may not be any time soon. Relax, have lots of sex (may be a while after the baby is born), and nature will take its course. Good luck!!!!!

Make sure you monitor the bloody discharge. I had the same and it was NOT bloody show. I was bleeding so they had to induce me (not that I wanted to be induced). If you question the amount of discharge, call your OB right away! Otherwise, if it is bloody show then it could still be a week or so before the blessed event. I lost my mucus plug at around 37 weeks and didn't deliver until 41 weeks. And I was 1-2 cm dilated.

with bloody show it won't be much longer just be ready to go at any time. also if you are dilated past a 4 the doctors can give you something to help bring on labor and contractions to speed the process along.

if you have had your bloody show its usually about 48 hours or so before you go in labor but thats not always true i was 2 cm dialated for a week with my first child and i to started having contractions but my water didnt break on its own they had to break it for me.with my 2nd they had to break my water as well but it only took me 3 hours to deliver.im now pregnant for the 3rd time.i would make sure your bags are packed and it could be any time now.good luck you might have your self a thanksgiving baby lol congrats sweetie

i replaced into like this with my first newborn and that i replaced into 1cm for greater or less 2 weeks. i'd desire to have long previous to the scientific institution 3 of four cases because of the fact i could not sense him shifting. It does get fairly crowded in there. as long as you're doing all your kick counts you will desire to be o.ok. bear in concepts, ideal now you're walking lots to progression your hard artwork, as you're shifting so is your newborn and that would desire to ok be the rationalization which you at the instant are not feeling him flow. it extremely is strictly what my wellbeing practitioner advised me. try ingesting rather chilly water, in specific cases that wakes the babies up. Congratulations and robust success!

bloody show is a sign that you're near. I would get ready and make sure you have everything you want for the hospital.

It could still be a while. I felt the same way for weeks and weeks, and I delivered at 41 weeks.
