and so on)?

I understand that circumstances are different, but on the whole, if someone sells rugs, chairs, chests and so on, in the most cases, what would it mean: that they are doing good and would be buying new things, or doing bad and need cash? Selling through local classifieds, cash only. Ah, and it's not moving elsewhere, that is certain.

I think I asked for no rude replies; if I ask it, then it's my business. It's not garage sale, but on local Internet classifieds, with photos.

It usually just means they are getting new things, but if they are small things like toasters they are struggling to get cash. People in a good financial situation don't bother to do such things, they either give their old things away to their adult children, good will or they use them at their summer house, camp, spare bedroom, etc.

Me personally I would rather throw it in the garbage (well at least my furniture, mine isn't worth selling nor giving to Salvation Army) People have garage sales. Which is fine. Never thought about it until YOU brought it up. Thanks for the insight. You must not be from the states if you are asking this question or from North America for that matter. Even Canadians have Yard/Garage Sales.

Oh well Sorry I don't go on the net to sell my things. I am not materialistic. I live in an apartment and I don't have much furniture only the basics. I have everything I need.

People sell things all the time. It could mean alot of different things. For example, I have a exercise equipment I am selling. Only because I don't use it. Some may need the cash, some may just not have the means to move it or store it in their next place.

Frankly, it shouldn't matter why they are selling. If it's something you need and you can pay for it, then buy it.

It likely means that they are moving and don't want to haul the furniture or they may be going overseas. Perhaps they are going to foreclose and really need to cut down.
I just went to a garage sale where the daughter moved back in with her parents.. happens.

It can mean a lot of things, that they are remodeling and want new things, that they need cash, or that they are emptying the house of a family member that has relocated or passed on.

Without being there I couldn't say. why don't you go there and ask them why they are selling. How do you know for certain that they are not moving?
