How do you care for costume wigs?

Wigs made of synthetic materials, like the kind you buy during Halloween? How do you care for them, or make them look more realistic?

Hello, I am a stylist. You can buy wig spray from the beauty supply store and a wig brush. A wig brush i just a wooden paddle brush that looks sort of like an animal brush. Most human air products will not work on synthetic hair because it has no cuticle, but oil sheens and mists will soften and help to detangle your wig. If you wash it, cold water only. Hope this helps!
