My Japanese and Chinese friends are obsessed with anything French including the French president's personal life. Many are obsessed with Louis Vuitton and try hard to speak French even though they only know ‘bonjour’. Where is this coming from?

To be honest, it was cute at first but lately it is getting so irritating just like those people obsessed with manga and anime

Because France has tons of beautiful arts and crafts. It's a complete opposite of the asian culture. Ever wonder why the movie, Marie Antoinette (starring Kirsten Dunst) was a movie hit in Japan?

That's one of the reasons and because of their speech. Unlike the rough pronounciations in parts like Germany, and Russia, French language flow like the river, like the petals of flowers blowing in the wind, etc., etc., etc.

Why get so obssesed with them liking what they like. Just watch and enjoy their behavior cause it's bound to end in time. And because they are being silly. :P

Oh yeahhhh they are!
Asians care so much about their look and exterior appearance. France is considered to be an elegant country where the best of everything comes from there: clothe designers, food, shoes, bags, beauty products, etc...
Asians ( I will say more about Japanese because I lived in Japan for several years) do care about being super trendy and have the top fashion bags, shoes and clothe designers. Although they love the beauty products from Japan, which by the way, are excellent! they love the ones from France.

One of my friend's fiance bother him for almost 1 year to buy a Chanel watch that cost at that time US$1,000 he saved every month to get her the stupid watch and she was so happy about it... Japanese are also well known for living really messy and in very small apartments because they don't care to live comfortably as long as they look absolutely flawless!

These were my experiences living in Japan. Mind you, not all Japanese or Asians are like that but many are...

that's just being sterotypical, I'm pretty sure a lot of people like french things not just asians. Also a lot of Americans, French, Germans, etc like japanese things. Such as anime and manga for example you can see al lot of animes and mangas that are translated into english, french, german, etc....

Yeah, Europe in particular is kind of admired. But if you look around more, you would find out that the majority are not that obsessed.

Do you see like hundreds of Asian people including the ones that are Japanese being that obsessed? Or is it only like five or six of them around you that are like that?

I do not see something mistaken with the query. Llewellyn George has an whole bankruptcy dedicated to this discipline in an excessively popular astrology publication that has been republished in a number of variants. To the asker, you would wish to consult Llewellyn George "A to Z Horoscope".

Seems to me that Americans must have no sense of fashion! The other day in an elevator a woman asked me if I were American. Before I could answer though, her friend said to her in Japanese that I could never be American because I was dressed fashionably! So, yes, I am not American! Besides, they are also obsessed with Italian goods!
At least they got style, so let them keep it!

It's not just Asians. People around the world, whether they want to admit it or not, think of France as being the epitome of romance.

I thought Louis Vuiton was an Asian company. I only see people with those bags in Asia or Chinatown in other countries. It's basically the adult version of Hello Kitty.

You probably spend a lot of time around young Asian women.

I don't understand why either. France has its up and downs like any other country but there are a lot of better things in different countries.

I also find the language to be not very romantic at all.

Probably because it's a culture that's almost opposite of their own. I think that's what draws me to Japan... :)
