An Egyptian woman has filed for divorce from her husband on the grounds that he has not showered since they married.
The wedding took place two months ago.
It was a quick courtship for Yara Saad Al-Din, 23, and Aysar Ali, 31, who got engaged two weeks after meeting on an airplane, AlArabiya reported.
But a couple of months into the marriage and the honeymoon is over. Ali recently confessed to his blushing bride that he hasn't showered in all eight weeks of their union, and now the missus is ready to change her marriage vows to "till dirt do us part."
Ali claimed he could not bathe because of a skin disease which made him allergic to water. While a doctor confirmed Ali had a skin disease, he also said it had nothing to do with water.
Al-Din filed for divorce. When Ali refused to grant her one, she filed for khol’a – an arrangement within Islam which will grant a woman a divorce if she renounces some financial rights.
An investigation into khol’a turned up countless unusual reasons for divorce:
- An engineer in Port Said filed for divorce because her veterinarian husband insisted on keeping cats and dogs in the house.
- A civil servant divorced her husband because he had bad breath from eating too much garlic and because he did not wash his feet.
- An Egyptian housewife filed for khol’a after her husband refused to let her go to her father’s funeral.
- A sorcerer's wife filed for a divorce after he refused to give up his job.
Would you want to divorce because of these reasons??

This is plain silly! Didn't it show from the beginning that those people were filthy and smelly?! Why would anyone marry them in the first place?!!
For me, I could never ever live with someone whom I cannot stand. If I felt that I was repulsed by a person for whatever reason I'd check out of the relation immediately, but in a civilized manner. Of course cheating is out of the question. If he decides to go down that road, its outta the door for him!

First of all....I believe that these kind of complications should not have occurred if they had taken the time to truly get to know each other well before making any commitments....
Although, I recognize that this may be difficult under some Islamic cultures....
Meanwhile; by principle, my main reasons for divorce would be deceit/unfaithfulness...because they create emotions, feelings, sentiments and thoughts that cannot be forgotten even if forgiven.....

these are silly and stupid reasons.like there are no love in these marriages.i am the first to be with khola3 but not for dumn reasons.its like a game today we want marriage 2morr we divorce.its immature.beig clean is really important and essentiel but couldnt she just wait till hes better or maybe explain to him how important it is.but the question is :couldnt she know that befoooore marriage.what did she pick him from a magazine without knowing anything about him?
as for me i would ask divorce for: cheating, abuse, hitting, and ...... but not bcz of pets or i dont know what else.marriage is a responsibility not a job that we can quit it whenever we want.

If we really love each other , and we care abt each other , then why divorce ,
I think many of the reasons u said up here are so silly , maybe its a problem to them , but i think they r like kids , like : " i want to have dog in my home" > " no i hate dogs , if u want a dog then lets divorce" > " ok lets Divorce " ,
I think married people here in Egypt and everywhere must be mature enough to know how to make a good family , not to be like kids to know how to destroy their family.
Wish u all the best , nice question ya ghanouga.

Some people are best left separated. I would definitely be quite consternated if my "other half" determined not to keep a practical and health level of cleanliness. Cleanliness meaning take a show a day.
"Cleanliness is Godliness"
