OMG Andre - where on earth do you get the nerve to compare people with weight issues to people with drug, alcohol or homelessness problems???
Are you a doctor?? Are you specialist in the human body???
What makes you think that all overweight people are self pitying, lazy, overeaters?
Speaking as someone who has weight issues I can tell you that I'm none of those things! I eat proper meals - I never eat microwave dinners, fast food or greasy rubbish, I cook proper food and have sensable and balanced portions. I eat fresh fruit and veg every day and drink plenty of water. I am active and although I do a sedantry job, I try to get out and walk every lunch hour and try to exersise on a regular basis. I'm not self pitying and don't go crying to my doctor every 5 minutes. I've never recieved benefits and have worked all of my adult life - I pay my taxes and make a genuine contrabution to sociaty - I'm not a bad person, I don't have a criminal record and I've never even had a speeding ticket!
I am over weight but I'm over weight because of a medical condition!
Despite being a good person, I am verbally attacked on a regular basis by people who don't know me. I am constantly judged because of how I look and I can't get the help and support I need from my doctors because all the NHS money is going on people who's problems are entirely self inflicted!!!!!!!

Well I don't know if I would bullying , its definitely being brought to peoples attention more and in a less positive way. you could say the same for size 0 campaigns.
but at the end of the day I dont think it should be swept under the carpet as the amount of over weight people is on the increase and so are the health issues that come with it .
it is adding to more financial pressure on nhs services that may not have been used if someones weight was more healthy . and I would add its tax payers money too thats increased ever time to cover it , which nobody likes.
it does need to be delt with for at least our kids health and there futures
I think there has been some measure to get compays to label food with a clear codeing system on the front of the packaging and the advertising of junk on the tv has been clamped down on too , ie. kids cereals.
The school meals is a big issue to with healthy meals .
promote a healthy diet in adults and food outlets then they buy better food choices ................which in turn makes less money in the sale of junky foods .

they should provide free slimming clubs instead of having to pay over a fiver a week just to get weighed and yeah supermarkets and manufactures should look for healthier options but at the end of the day its all about cost mass produce at low costs and maximise profits im just a greedy moose that loves chocolate lol

Hi,like you I am not classed has over weight. They bullied smokers now the target is people who they deem over weight.I agree 100% with you.I have harped on about the food that all shops sell. All you have to do is look at who owns
the main supply of food like Turkeys chickens etc its not farmers. They put transfats into nearly all of our food, have no idea why ,then look at all the additives. To cap it all they import cooked chickens from Thailand.I do not understand what is going on.

As one who is very obese and loves being that way, I don't think we are bullied. I think there is more publicity and communication about being fat and obese. I do wonder if the communication is effective. We know we are fat and obese and we know why. We are also intelligent enough to know why we are this way. We make our own choices about our size and I doubt the communication will change those choices.

I think people who are over weight have always been victims in sociey not just now that the government have intervined. We all have different size figures etc and we should be comfortable with how we look regardless of what society thinks.

Yes I feel bullied.
I have to take steroids because of a medical condition so can become very "puffy". I get shouted at in the street when I am big and wolf-whistled at when I am slim.
Underneath I am still me!

They are picked on to some extent ,but it is a problem and it affects their health and it is the same for smokers and heavy drinkers. Someone always wants them to change for the better.

the government always thinks its their responsibility for everything....
what their passing a law about how breathing the wrong way can cause cancer
sneezing the wrong way makes your brain explode...lets pass a law banning improper sneezing
they can pass law banning bad food but not everybody can decide what is truley bad...
look at vegans....
look at vegetarians...
what about all organic....
i agree that america is REALLLLLLY in need of a tummy tuck...LOL
