Yep, thats symptom numero uno.
Coolant and motor oil mixing in the crankcase and the cooling system.
Catastrophic failure and you get billows of white smoke from the exhaust.
A compression check will say a lot, too, if you're not convinced enough already to pull the head and see...

Hi Michelle,
I'm NO expert on cars, but i've had this problem too...
Normally when you take off the oil cap you will find a white gunk in the cap, it'll run out of water very quickly and it'll be quite smokey from the exhaust..
It may not be worth getting a head gasket done for your car, it is terribly expensive (cost me £900 for an Astra a few years ago!)
Hope this isnt the problem, the Korando is a nice car...

When you pull the oik dipstick, does the oil look somewhat like a chocolate milkshake? Are you seeing a lot of white smoke out of the exhaust?
Water into the oil means that you have a bad head gasket, or a cracked head! Depending on the mileage of the vehicle, you may want to consider replacing the car, rather than repairing it. The cost of repair may exceed the value of the vehicle.

Hi michelle
first of all is the car losing water i.e do you fill it up every day and how much do you fill it by.
Take out the dipstick from the engine and look for tell tale emulsion (white couloured goop) if you have got that then it is almost certainly the head gasket. If not it could be the work you had done when you fitted the water pump.

If your oil looks like a milkshake or constant steam comes out of the tail pipe you got a leaking head seal or a cracked head. A blown head gasket doesn't always let water in the oil. It depends where the gasket failed. Exhaust could be forcing its way into your coolant witch will push the water out and make you over heat. does it run out of water with no signs of a leak? there are a few inexpensive ways to test for a head leak. don't trust most independent shops. This time of year is slow and they would love to rip you off. good luck!

I'm not familiar with that car but had similar issues on a Ford Bronco II. Changed all gaskets and still had same problem. Believe the heads ( it's a V6) are warped from overheating previously.
Various options available but time consuming and expensive.

its not a hard job to remove the cylinder head and look to see if there is a white emulsion ( usually when water mixes with oil you get a white emulsion )
