I was thinking of putting mine up on 1st December. Do you think that's too early??

I was thinking of putting my Christmas tree on Friday! NO. December 1 isn't too early!

I see that Christmas has gotten far away from the joyous simplicity of the season. Gifts too expensive, the tradition of drawing names and putting a high price for everyone to follow when purchasing the gift. This isn't the love of Christmas, but the love of power & money spent for a competitive "package".
My tree goes up 7 days before Christmas. I used to put the tree up right after Thanksgiving, but changed that a few years ago. I don't want my grandkids to think it's about how many gifts are under the tree & feel it makes them want and expect more & more. The truth of Christmas is the togetherness,the wonderful dinner and the love and respect we realize is all
around us, under our roof at this time of year.

As soon as someone helps me get it down! It's on top of a suitcase.
.... which is on top of an unusually tall wardrobe.
I used to put my tree up on the 1st of December every year, but my Grandma died that day one year and it kinda messed it up. Now I'm divorced I will just do it on a day that I have my kids, sometime between now and December.
I also take it down ASAP because my son's birthday is December 30th and I like to keep it separate from Christmas.

I think whatever makes you happy is right, so if you want to put them up on the 1 December, then you should... ;0)
I do not out up a tree, me and Mr Nice live alone and don't have kid's so don't see the point, it just makes the place look messy and when you take them down the place looks bare!! ;0)

I dont put mine up til a week before Christmas. We have 3 dogs and I always worry having a tree will be too much temptation if one of them needs a wee!
Another reason is that my son will have eaten all the chocolate decs nefore anyone else gets a look in!
