Sex does not make a marriage, but what stops you from going into his room and doing him.

Depends... What is it that people want out of a marriage??? Some want companionship - knowing that there is someone else around even if their is no intimate relationship - it is like living with a friend - but some people are content with this.

I would also ask the age of the people and how long they have been married. Being married has cycles and after the initial wave of "greatness" it wears off to "routine" . Sometimes when we get into the routine stage we just go thru the motions and forget that the other person is even there half the time, this can lead to a marriage like the one you ask about. People who stay together not becasue of love or anything else but simply routine and sometimes a fear of change.

Sue,
Marriage is still valid, but this shows there is some problem to be addressed. Try to ask him what makes him do so. There could be so many things that might have prompted him to do it, if you really love him, try to understand what the issues are. Dont feel bad or troubled by this, but keep your cool while you try to solve this issue. He may say many things. Things about you or perhaps that he is in relation with someone else. Whatever. Keep your cool and self esteem intact and go through this fact finding mission. Try to encourage him to talk without blaming him or cursing him, just let him talk. After you find what the issues are, if you could anything to help improve the situation, try to do them. Or else, proceed to the next steps. Be prepared to take some hurt and keep you strong.
Take care...

yes, there is a marriage. Sleeping in a different room is no biggie. Alot of couples do it. If there is no sex, is it a mutual decision? If not, there is work to be done.

Not really. It usually means he is having an affair. Women look for all kinds of excuses (like he isn't gone long enough)why he isn't but he usually is. I don't believe without closeness and affection, a marriage is not worth it.

Legally its a marriage, but that's about it,,in name only. Otherwise it sounds like a roommate.
